Description:
Ferriprox 500 mg Tablets are used for the treatment of transfusional iron overload in patients with thalassemia syndromes when current chelation therapy is inadequate. The active ingredient, deferiprone, binds to excess iron in the body, allowing it to be excreted, thus preventing damage to vital organs such as the liver and heart.
Ingredients:

Inactive Ingredients: Microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, colloidal silicon dioxide, hypromellose, macrogol, titanium dioxide.
Usage Instructions:
- Take Ferriprox exactly as prescribed by your healthcare provider.
- The usual dosage is 25 mg/kg body weight, taken three times daily for a total of 75 mg/kg/day. However, your doctor will determine the best dose for you.
- Swallow the tablets whole with water.
- Can be taken with or without food. Taking with food may reduce nausea.
- Regular blood tests are necessary to monitor ferritin levels and adjust dosage accordingly.
