Description:
Iressa (gefitinib) is an oral medication used to treat non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) that has spread to other parts of the body. It is specifically indicated for patients with tumors that have certain types of abnormal epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) genes. Iressa works by inhibiting the activity of EGFR, which helps slow down the growth and spread of cancer cells.
Ingredients:
- Active Ingredient: Gefitinib (250 mg per tablet)
- Inactive Ingredients: Lactose Monohydrate, Cellulose (microcrystalline), Croscarmellose Sodium, Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose, Polysorbate 80, Magnesium Stearate, Polyethylene Glycol, Titanium Dioxide, Iron Oxide Yellow, Iron Oxide Red
Usage Instructions:
- Follow the dosage prescribed by your healthcare provider.
- The typical dose is one 250 mg tablet taken once daily.
- Swallow the tablet whole with water, with or without food.
- Take the tablet at the same time each day.
- Do not crush or chew the tablet.
- If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember, unless it is almost time for the next dose. Do not double the dose to make up for a missed one.
- Regular monitoring of liver function and other blood tests may be required during treatment.
